YERBA MATE!!!!

Another highlight of the journey to "la tierra colorada" -- this red earth grows the best yerba in the country -- the tea-type leaves brewed in the Argentine national beverage. We were invited to visit the plantation and secadora (drying plant) belonging to "Cuatro Caminos (Four Pathways) Yerba Mate" -- a 100% Lutheran and 100% organic yerba mate producer. Due to technical difficulties these photos are not in perfect chronological order -- but here in random order you see the process from yerba tree (the yerba trees were right next to the green tea plants which this family also grows) to harvested yerba in the fire-heated drying process (up to 2 year process in heat up to 70 degrees celsius) to the delivery truck to the bag full of completed product that Monica and I were given (FREEE!) to carry home to Comodoro with us. MMMM -- muy rica! (very tasty!)
